Our Story
Sunset Valley Chicks
Every great adventure starts with a little dream, and ours began with a tree change, a patch of country land and a whole lot of chickens!
Back in 2013, we swapped the hustle and bustle for farm life in beautiful Flowerdale, Victoria. With the help of my brother (an amazing farmer!), we built our first chicken pens, and thanks to my daughter, who came up with the perfect name, Sunset Valley Chicks was born!
Our dream was simple: to bring beautiful purebred chickens to local markets and make them affordable for everyday backyard chicken lovers.
We’ve changed direction a few times along the way, but one thing has never changed: our love of breeding and raising our favourite chicken breeds.
Today, we continue to hatch chicks naturally under our broody hens, with a wonderful friend also helping us with incubating so we can keep up with demand.
We love welcoming visitors to the farm during our Open Farm Day events, mainly throughout spring and summer when we’re busy hatching and raising our chickens.
